Founded in 2005 and located in what has since become North Fitzroy Village, Dench has never failed to charm us with their organic flour sourdough breads, friendly service and decadently good cafe menu. The thing that has kept them great is the consistency of their products; from the "house" white bread and the olive & rosemary breads to the seasonal fruit pastries, gluten-free cakes.

John and Tony Dench's are now baked offsite to allow for the demand of the business' wholesale arm and the cafe has grown accordingly. If anything though, this enhances your experience, as it allows the onsite kitchen to produce even more breakfast and lunch options, as well as their terrific take-home meals.
