This place, humbly named after its suburban location, is all about the coffee. On any given day they typically have at least one single origin on offer, as well as their house blend. Brunswick East Project is also the home of Padre Coffee, a top-level boutique roaster, sourcing green coffee from up to 30 different estates all over the coffee-growing world. It is being used at a few other cafes already and has been entered into roasting competitions.

Spending time in Brunswick East Project almost forces you to engage with what you’re drinking. How can you not, when you’re surrounded by all sorts of shiny coffee-related gadgets and sacks upon sacks of green beans? This is not a bad thing – the guys at Brunswick East Project actively encourage you to ask questions about what’s in your cup, where it comes from and how it’s made. Want to find out more? Sign up for one of their barista courses. Coffee and a little bit of education is the order of the day here.
