Located on Nicholson Street up near Birdie Num Nums, Annoying Brother attracts a steady stream of local residents and office workers.

This friendly, little cafe may not have the luxury of space, but thanks to some clever design work it feels much bigger than it really is. Natural light filters through large, north-facing windows, a blackboard wall embellished with scrawled daily specials, quotes and sketches spans the length of the venue and there are plenty of colourful touches to give the space personality.

The cafe derives its name from owner Julian Moussi, who grew up with four older sisters and undoubtedly spent a good portion of his childhood playing the pest.

This is Moussi’s first cafe, but he’s from a hospitality family, so he knows the ins and outs of a coffee machine like the back of his hand. The menu is simple and concise with breakfast options such as dukkah eggs and lunch options such as the minute steak sandwich.

They also offer a generous range of paninis, focaccias and salads that you can eat in or takeaway and, where possible, produce is sourced locally.
