Take two parts Danish minimalist furniture store, add one part Italian wine and cocktail bar (subtract the sleazy old man with the handlebar moustache) and garnish with a little kitchen fare. While you’re at it, just a dash of full screen cinema and you’ve created the recipe that is the new Long Play.
Nestled amongst a growing number of quality establishments like Supermaxi and Jorg, it’s a going a long way to serving the thirsty drinkers of North Fitzroy and visitors from further afield.
The wine list is strong, with a good selection by the glass from France, Italy and Spain while the locals bring up the rear. A ‘back bar in progress’ will continue to expand, but for now, it’s well equipped and perfectly considered. You cant help but want an aperitif, the surroundings demand it and a nice whiskey selection will set you up nicely before you depart.
While you’re perched at the bar grab some antiapsto or light snacks; the marinated olives to pick and share, or asparagus au gratin and Italian style meatballs. Take a seat at the bar and enjoy the future of local drinking.
