Winter Breakfast – Top 10 Bowls of Porridge

Come mid June we thought it a fitting time to celebrate the perfect winter breakfast and uncover a few places that are spicing up tradition with a more creative bowl of porridge.

H

ow do you like your porridge? Infused with orange and spices? Topped with poached quince and mint? Or perhaps sprinkled with dried fruit compote and toasted coconut? Unlike the gruel-ish childhood memory of an insipid, lumpy substance that unappealingly slops around into your bowl, porridge has become a far more attractive dish that can shine from the menu of several Melbourne cafes.
