wo weeks ago we launched Table For Six – a competition for an all expenses paid table for six at one of four top Melbourne restaurants. The line-up features The Aylesbury, Chin Chin, Cutler & Co. and Vue de Monde. All you have to do to enter is subscribe the Broadsheet Melbourne newsletter.

The first Table For Six was given away for dinner at The Aylesbury to our winner Emily Williamson. They started up on the rooftop for a drink, then had dinner downstairs in the restaurant. We chatted to Emily about her Table For Six.

Broadsheet: Who did you take with you?
Emily: I took my boyfriend, twin sister and three best friends.

Broadsheet: What did you eat?
Emily: We had a set menu of Spanish tapas. We started off with house made bread with rock salt and beautiful olive oil. My favourite was the zucchini flower and goats cheese in a light batter and quickly deep-fried. AMAZING. We had a whole crumbed flounder - which we polished off quickly. The staff saw we were enjoying this and asked us if we'd like another and out it came. They matched our wines with the food that was coming out which started out with Champagne and worked our way through white to red and then coffee to finish.

Broadsheet: What did you enjoy about The Aylesbury and being there with friends?
Emily: I liked the share plate - tapas vibe - it's gives a very social feeling and makes dining a more exciting experience. You never win dinner for more then two people - having six people made it more of a fun night out. It's so cool to be able to takeout your best mates at this time of the year.
