Farmgate work closely with Australian cheesemakers to bring to wheels of the best cheese, and everything you need to go with it.

T

here is something amazingly seductive about oozing, gooey cheese. Travis and Laura Sanders at Farmgate Cheese think so too. Based in Melbourne they are bringing artisianal farmhouse cheese to cheese-lovers and eaters across Australia. Though they don’t make the cheese themselves, Farmgate work closely with Australian cheesemakers to put together hampers.

Choose cheese, crackers, fruit and jams from the pantry and use your tasting notes from the Fromagers to match with wine from the cellar. They also stock all the cheese accessories you need for a perfectly cheesey experience, stocking cheese knifes, wooden boards, graters, slates and cheese safes.

The Farmgate’s selection includes cheeses from Holy Goat, Meredith, Yarra Valley Dairy, Berry’s Creek, Shaw River, Locheilan Tarrilli and Tarago River. They also import French brie, English Farmhouse Cheddar and Saint Agur blue, Queso Manchego from Spain and Pecorino from Italy.

Farmgate but have even put up a bunch of recipes to use their cheese with on the site, and also do catering for picnics and parties. They operate out of a space in Hawthorn but you can buy all of this at their online Farmshop.

Apparently too much cheese gives you nightmares, but we're not that scared.

We have a Farmgate cheese hamper to the value of $150 to give away. Email win@broadsheet.com.au with the subject 'Cheesy' and your contact details to win.
