Yesterday, 40 international chefs met at the Broadsheet Cafe to get their annual class photo taken for the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.

Y
ou may have noticed there is a host of international chefs in town at the moment; they’re here for the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. Every year the chefs get together and have a photo taken, as a group, like an annual class photo. This year they chose to have it taken out the front of the Broadsheet Cafe on Crossley Street.

So yesterday, the 40 or so chefs met at the site in the morning. Bompas & Parr were there, as was Stephanie Alexander, Thorsten Schmidt (who cooked an amazing dinner the night before with Ben Shewry at Attica), Elena Arzak from Arzak in San Sebastian, Tokyo's Jum Yukimura and George Calombaris (The Press Club and Hellenic Republic), among others. Five Senses who are the official coffee supplier for the festival - and were also behind the machine at the Broadsheet Cafe yesterday - provided the chefs with espresso from the Synesso and pour over coffee, as they pleased.

We were thrilled to have them, and are pretty chuffed they’re enjoying what we’re doing down there. You can see the class photo on the back page of the main section of The Age today. Looks like this.
