T

he Broadsheet Cafe opened this morning with Seven Seeds the first operators at the helm. And though you probably don't need an introduction, here's a little something on these guys just to whet the whistle for your first Broadsheet Cafe coffee.

Mark Dundon can quite fairly claim to have started the current (third) wave of Melbourne coffee mania, as the man behind first St Ali (which he sold in 2008) and then, with business partner Bridget Amor, Seven Seeds.

Always packed to the brim (often with study fatigued Melbourne Uni students fueling up for their next class), the converted Carlton warehouse is home to state of the art roasting, retail, cupping and training programs and of course, the all important cafe.

These guys use their own house blend, as well as offering single origins sourced by Mark and Bridget themselves and guest blends. With city location Brother Baba Budan and new kid on the block De Clieu in Fitzroy also part of the family, Seven Seeds is a coffee powerhouse that lives up to the hype.

Check them out in the Broadsheet Cafe today and Wednesday March 9.
