Baker D Chirico Bun Stall in New Carlton Premises
Baker D Chirico Bun Stall in New Carlton Premises

Artisan baker Danny Chirico is treating Carlton for three days over Easter, starting today!

By Hilary McNevin, 21st April 2011

T
hink of a market stall and fill it with hot cross buns. That’s what baker Danny Chirico is doing by popping up in Carlton for three days over Easter with a hot cross bun sale.

With sale posters designed by Misha Hollenbach and staff with bum bags taking cash only, a trestle table will be set up inside what will become the new Baker D.Chirico store due to open in July. On the former Video Dogs site on Faraday Street, this will be a bare-bones sale of single buns or packs of six to whet the appetites of the north side of town with Chirico’s delicious sourdough buns.

It will also serve to create anticipation of what’s to come: a bakery focusing on the specialty product that is bread, without a cafe or any added extras – simply, a beautiful artisan bakery.
