They’re an unlikely duo, a Tiger and a Peacock. Yet the retail shop Tiger & Peacock is the project of a perfect one: visual merchandiser Aimee McCallum and her partner Mark, an architect. Both are well travelled, as is obvious by their collection of imported products – each culturally and historically distinct. You’ll discover antique ornaments, magnets and bird lanterns (with cute names like Sir Peacock and Miss Parrot), themed frames containing aged photographs of moustached men, and other furnishings and furniture from afar.

All products differ in material and texture and exhibit exceptional workmanship. There’s ceramic jugs, tea lights, polished nickel votives and silver plated, spotted, brushed or beaten vases; all are delightfully presented in store and online and make for ideal gifts, selfish indulgences or pantry ‘necessities’.

There is also a small clothing collection – neutral hues by Morrison and French sandshoes by Bensimon.

The window displays are striking but laborious and no wonder: Aimee has designed for the likes of Husk and T2 and you’re likely to catch her busy with her latest creation behind the counter.
