Over the years, the art deco home of international designer fashion has introduced us to the Japanese invaders, Comme des Garçons, Yohji Yamamoto, Issey Miyake, and Belgians, Dries Van Noten and Dirk Bikkembergs, while continuing to keep things current with the French and Italian powerhouses of Jean Paul Gaultier and Dolce and Gabbana. Although these days the store maybe a little bit of a throwback to the heady days of ’90s design, Cose Ipanema still stocks many of the labels that first gave it notoriety and remains fashion-forward enough to be considered a destination.
