Local label Steele releases their flirty spring ‘11 collection, aptly named Love Sick.

B

illowing chiffon dresses, striped mustard maxis and sleeveless sheer shirts – it must nearly be spring. At least that’s what we wished when we saw Melbourne-based label Steele’s flirty spring ‘11 collection. The aptly named Love Sick line melted our wintery hearts and had us pining for spring’s sweet rays.

You’d be forgiven for not having heard of Steele, as this is only their second collection. But already their edgy, bohemian garments are adorning the racks of over 35 Australian boutiques, including To The Max, Rock & Oscar and Wild in Melbourne.

Steele is a creative collaboration between two Melbourne girls, but Jessica Przywara is the one responsible for the distinctly contemporary design sensibility. Her personal penchant for effortless bohemian style is written all over Love Sick’s structured yet relaxed aesthetic.

Whether striped mustard pants or floaty pastel dresses, the collection is deceptively understated. If you look closely at the garments you’ll see superior workmanship and cleverly styled nuances that give each piece a certain sophistication.

Now we just need the sun to come out again.
