Based around the design process, the exhibition showcases the works of 15 fourth year fashion students from RMIT who are three and three quarters way through the degree. A clever name for an equally clever concept.

The road from design to delivery can be quite a lonely path within the fashion world. Late nights spent slumped over a sewing machine are hardly conducive to design discussions. Apart from fellow students and teachers, there are few contexts in which students are able to receive feedback from outsiders, which is why Three and Three Quarters is not only a fascinating peek behind the scenes, but a much welcomed platform for design students to test the waters, share their ideas and engage with potential consumers.

But this isn't a mere show and tell of designs and fabric swatches. The Three and Three Quarters exhibition is anchored to a host of theme and propositions such as challenging techniques, new forms of wearability, fashion as a form of expression and experimental design processes.

The RMIT students behind the show will also be conducting talks on the exhibition on Saturday and Sunday from 1.30pm at the gallery.
