Along comes the sun and we’re already thinking about what to wear to the beach, so we’ve been looking at Amore and Sorvete’s new swimwear collection.

W
hile sunshine can still be slightly tentative, summer is upon us and soon the shores of our beaches will be covered with sunbathing bodies. Luckily for us, two young West Australian designers, who grew up in one of the sunniest beaches in Australia, are sharing their expert vision in the beachwear area for the rest of us who have spent a good part of the past six months cloaked in swathes of warm clothing.

New swimwear label Amore and Sorvete embody the quintessential, all-Australian girl; all wavy blonde locks and sand-encrusted golden tan. Sorbet, this summer’s collection by Bridgette Gale and Kesta Anderson, is all about the sweet things summer has to offer, with floral prints and ice cream pastels aplenty throughout the collection. Pretty bows, neat plaits and frills are reminiscent of the cute bathers we used to wear as kids, while strategically-placed cut-outs and contrasting colour panels give the collection a more grown-up touch.

The designer duo also plays it fair with their variety of swimwear cuts and styles, with demure one-pieces getting a dose of sexy with mesh panels and spaghetti straps, while vintage-inspired high-waisted bottoms are paired with classic bikini tops.
