ou may have noticed over the last couple of summers that shorts are getting shorter. Stopping well above the knee or closer to mid thigh seems to be the way to go. In fact the elasticised waist ‘volley’ short has made its way from 80s physical education class to today’s list of perfectly acceptable casual attire. While the tailored tab waist Bermuda is still the preferred standard for smart-casual, the ‘volley’ is pushing its way through teaming up with everything from tees to oxford shirts and loafers. Some are even leading a double life operating incognito as summer’s new swimmers - a plus for those who like to take a quick dip whenever the mood takes them.
