here is something very alluring about an Italian; something foreign and mysterious, but strong and full-bodied. There’s something about the way they dress and the way they cook, but there is also something rather seductive about the way they smell. It is this sensory experience of Italian fragrances that has inspired our style-pick this week.

Fragrances from perfumer Nasomatto are often described as unorthodox, complex and provocative – from Absinth, which claims to ‘stimulate irresponsible behaviour’, to Duro, the ‘essence of male virility’, this range is all about intense sensory overload. Nasomatto is at the higher end of the scale in both potency and price, so if you prefer a lighter, more affordable scent try Acca Kappa White Moss offering ‘sweet, warm and sensual notes with a subtle perfume of wood, amber and moss’.
