Megan Park’s Maximalist Winter Collection
Inspired by the modern bohemian, Megan Park injects an eclectic mix of textures and prints into Melbourne’s cooler months. O n the cusp of autumn, it comes as no surprise that whispers about next season’s eclectic mash-up of textures and prints have already begun. One designer who will be injecting Melbourne with a healthy dose of this maximalist style is Megan Park.
“My muse for the season is a well-travelled sophisticate; a woman of passion and adventure; a modern bohemian, “ explains Park. Inspired by a palette of inky black, graphite, musk and gold, Megan Park’s winter 2011 collection is defined by modern silhouettes and asymmetric draping. Painterly floral prints abound, while Park’s signature mosaic embroidery and opulent beadwork – using crystals, rose-gold drops and chips of turquoise – also features heavily. Whether it’s a day dress, cropped jacket, evening vest or tribal leggings, this range is designed for rule-breaking layers and a “personalised style of unlikely combinations,” says Park. To finish your look, Megan Park is now exclusively stocking the London-based Miquella jewellery collection. Renowned for their statement neckpieces, cocktail rings and vintage-inspired earrings, Miquella compliments Megan Park’s more-is-more aesthetic and is the perfect tonic to the dreary, cool months ahead. <<
