Manning Cartell’s New Swimwear Range

Australian fashion house Manning Cartell takes to the pool with a new range of swimwear that expands on their casually elegant aesthetic.

ustralian fashion house Manning Cartell has the effortlessly elegant look pretty much down pat. Since launching in 2006, the Sydney-based label has garnered a reputation for producing pared down modern pieces that are glamorous without trying too hard. As such, it was hard not to be curious as to whether that same aesthetic would translate to swimwear.

With a generous 19 different styles, ranging from classic one pieces to edgier cut out bikinis, their first range accomplishes exactly that. The swimwear is elegant yet edgy, and quality workmanship means you don’t feel like your paying $200 for a handkerchief.

The swimwear range utilises the same striking, digitally printed artworks used in their summer 2011 Labyrinth collection, including prints inspired by the natural wonders of the North African landscape.

An emphasis on texture is also present with a somewhat impractical but very sexy suede lace-up one piece and an array of cleverly placed details such as ruffles, ruches and crisscrossing straps adorning the rest of the collection. The colour palette again reflects the African influence with saturated tones of rust, ecru and blue grotto through to crisp white and gold.

If you’re a Manning Cartell fan or you like a bit of casual glamour while poolside, you’ll certainly like this.
