A leading fashion retail consultant, creative advisor for fashion brands and trend forecaster, Yasmin Sewell moved to London from Sydney in 1999 to set up her own boutique, Yasmin Cho. It immediately garnered cult-like status amongst the city’s fashion coterie.
After three years of “drinking tea and trying on clothes”, Sewell scored one of England’s most plum fashion jobs, that of Buying Director for the Browns department store empire. It was there that she further developed her unique knack for discovering new talent and bridging the gap between accessible fashion and luxury brands.
Sewell left Browns to set up her own fashion consultancy business and was soon working as Chief Creative Consultant for iconic boutique Liberty’s. During her time, she bought in more than 60 new designers, creatively and physically overhauling the womenswear department. Profits shot to a 10-year high, with Sewell singlehandedly credited for rejuvenating the brand and introducing a new, modern clientele.
