Insight’s range of vintage inspired swimwear and clothing will prepare you for anything a summer’s tide may bring.

By Megan Clune, 13th December 2011

S
ummer has finally rolled around and it’s time to flock to the beach and escape the heat. Insight Swim’s new collection of one-pieces, high-waisted bikinis, bandeaus, bustiers and crop tops sit alongside the ubiquitous mini-triangle, making a trip to the beach or local pool a lot more fashionable.

Designer Laura May has chosen to colour the range in romantic florals, Crawford marbling and animal prints, while also introducing a selection of separates in stripes, polka dots, neons and bold solids. A mix and match attitude is encouraged here and you’ll want to wear these pieces even if you aren’t planning on swimming, but this does mean you will be more than prepared for a midnight dip – it is summer after all.

Insight have paired the swimwear with a resort collection of easy pieces, including knitted shorts, kimono beach throws, printed lightweight pants, skirts, dresses and retro board shorts that will make for great Christmas gifts – even if it is for yourself. Bondi photographer Akila Berjaoui shot the collection in a heated, hazy style and Insight’s effortlessly sexy collaboration with the photographer is a portrayal of feminine beauty and long summer days.

And while we’re talking Insight, it might be good to know (just in time for Christmas), that they’ve already recently released Insight Collectables, a homewares line featuring a new range of candles and other creative curios.
