Edition X – The New Concept Store by Pieces of Eight
Pieces of Eight has opened a new online concept store and showroom for jewellery and objects that we just love. F or years now, Pieces of Eight has housed and developed the work of local and international designers, establishing itself as a coveted niche for lovers of beautiful objects and jewellery. Initially, devotees flocked to the gallery in North Fitzroy and more recently to the commanding, gold-flanked shopfront on Russell Place. However, for most, the gallery remains a place of awe and appreciation rather than a retail outlet.
Our wallets welcome Edition X, the latest project developed by Pieces of Eight Gallery – a concept store with a price point that eases access to Pieces of Eight’s treasure trove of goods. Edition X aligns with the philosophy of Pieces of Eight, producing exclusively commissioned works from around the globe encompassing the scope of jewellery, art, textiles, sculpture and works on paper. The former home of Pieces of Eight Gallery, at the St Georges Road end of Brunswick Street, has now been transformed into the Edition X showroom. In addition to the pieces on offer, the space will exhibit a range of beautiful window installations by artists and architects alike. The online store will play host to the collections on offer as well as exclusive one off pieces and special online exhibitions. The website also offers The Daily Edition, a regularly updated news source from the Edition X team featuring all that feel good, inspirational mush we all can’t help but love. You can visit Edition X in store or online, where you’re free to proceed to the check out, weighed down by a basket full of affordable collectables rather than guilty spending.
