R
etro frames are nothing new. But the very appeal of their vintage styling has almost started wearing thin given the all-too-common adoption of fake specs as a novel accessory. However, if you do need to wear prescription eyewear don’t let this put you off - as you can’t really go past a beautifully styled pair of classic frames. While the popular choice of thick, heavy and black is great for some, why not try a finer look with tortoiseshell or the subtleness of clear frames - it’s always nice to see a face and not just a pair of glasses. One of the best selections of smart frames can be found at Bellocchio in South Melbourne. A concise but distinctive range, you’ll find it difficult to decide between Paul Smith, Tom Ford, or Oliver Peoples. They carry these brands in both specs and sunnies.

Found at:
Bellocchio, 242 Clarendon St South Melbourne - Oliver Peoples ‘Sheldrake’ frames.
