The cameras have been turned - director Robert B Weide’s Woody Allen: A Documentary explores the life of prolific filmmaker.

Shown as part of ACMI's Long Play program, the documentary turns the tables on the screenwriter and director. The documentary features interviews with Allen, as well as collaborators, friends and admirers such as Diane Keaton and Penelope Cruz and Martin Scorsese.

From the man who brought us films like Bananas and Take the Money and Run, the Oscar winning Annie Hall and Manhattan and his most recent Midnight in Paris, the raw format enables viewers insight into the inner-most depths of Allen’s magical, humourous and at times, dark mind.

Alongside the documentary, ACMI is also screening two Woody classics, Sweet and Lowdown and Bullets Over Broadway as part of the Melbourne International Jazz Festival's Jazz on Film program.
