Elizabeth Gower is an artist residing and working in Melbourne. For her latest exhibition “Savings” at Sutton Gallery, she has collected scrap papers, food wrappers, brochures and magazines from the gutters of Melbourne and New York. Using these humble objects to create innovating collages and wall hangings. This series alludes to the patterns made from quilts ironically constructed using scrap materials also. The results are harmonious, strong, aesthetically pleasing art pieces.
