Young artists from Arts Centre Melbourne’s renowned hip-hop music mentoring program Dig Deep are hosting a free performance at the Arts Centre as part of Refugee Week. Celebrating the contribution of young people from diverse backgrounds to our community, these talented young rappers, singers and music producers are going to show you a good time and more generally, that they've got some pretty kick-ass talent up their sleeves.
The young musicians and dancers will be supported by a combination of established artists including MC’s Mantra and Momo (Diafrix), singing specialist Hailey Cramer (Blue King Brown) and studio specialist Glen Christiansen (Ptero Stylus, Mantra, Mista Savona).
Dig Deep muscisians will also be providing some mean beat-boxing action to eMotion, which will feature over 200 young dancers from the Melbourne’s Western corridor and Ballarat come together in the ultimate dance-off at the new Hamer Hall Opening Celebrations. This flashmob-style event will be the culmination of a six-month program of face-to-face and online dance workshops that celebrate Australia’s vibrant, multicultural communities.
