Have you ever wondered what it would be like to spend a day in the life of a wine judge: slurping, swirling and sniffing the best wine from all over?
Well, now you have the opportunity to find and refine your nose at one of the four ‘The blind judge master classes,’ hosted by Rutherglen’s awarded show wineries Scion and Stanton and Killeen.
Escape the hubbub of the city and breathe in the fresh country air amongst the Scion Vineyard and Winery’s barrels. Special guests, The Humble Tumbler's charismatic wine educator Clare Burder and celebrated wine commentator Nick Bulleid MW, will guide you through the process of blind judging and fill you in on what it takes to make premium wine. Taste Victorian wines, including first rate drops, plus spring releases from Scion and Stanton and Killeen.
On Saturday night, a blind judge dinner will be held at restaurant Taste Of Rutherglen. Rub glasses with the winemakers themselves and gorge on local chef Gavin Swalwell’s local dishes. Think succulent Rutherglen spring lamb and a specially crafted Scion Rose Muscat sorbet matched against wines you have judged during the day.
