Argentinian favourite San Telmo are celebrating their country’s national Independence Day and are inviting everyone to join in the celebrations.
‘9 De Julio’ represents they day when the Argentina became free from Spain, after 6 years of being under the Spanish control. It was wealthy merchants in Buenos Aires that were the driving force behind the movement.
San Telmo will be serving up Locro, the national dish of independence, as well as empanadas, quilmes and more. Malbec will of course be on offer, and Tango dancing is essential.
