This year’s MIAF presents two works by dance company Sasha Waltz and Guests; its latest production Medea, a dance-opera, and this, its dance masterpiece, Körper. Translated from German, Körper means ‘body’, which might give you a sense of what this work is all about. The body, fragmented, distilled, abstracted and laid bare. Literally. Minimal stage and sound design throw into stark relief the human body in movement. Dance is all about the body and by all accounts, this contemporary dance piece is mesmerising in its treatment of this simple fact.
