Over the last six seasons fashion label MATERIALBYPRODUCT has been creating “curtain gowns” – a series of dresses originally inspired by a found lace curtain. Throughout this period the studio has also been playing with the notion of a portable fashion house. The next stage of MATERIALBYPRODUCT’s mobile fashion house introduces illumination; referencing the candlelit atmosphere of an 18th century ballroom and electric lit 1920s dance halls through the guise of a chandelier.
