Two of the legends of French New Wave cinema come together in this documentary by Emmanuel Laurent about the friendship between Francois Truffaut and Jean-Luc Godard. The two were friends long before fame, supporting each other throughout the sixties as they found fame, but parting ways in 1968 as politics got in the way. Godard maintained a staunchly political stance to his filmmaking, while Truffaut took a more decadent approach of 'art for art's sake', creating an irreconcilable break. With personal records, photographs, film excerpts and little-seen archival footage this is a must see for any serious New Wave fan.

Godard's newly restored and rarely seen 'Made in the U.S.A' will screen the following week.
