Straight from MoMA in New York, 'Tim Burton: The Exhibition' comes to ACMI as part of the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces. A retrospective of Burton's entire career not only as a director, but an animator, illustrator and photographer, there will be painting, sculptures, never-before-seen artworks and works detailing the making of his films. Burton's student and non-professional films will also be showing, including the unseen, but much fabled TV adaptation 'Hansel and Gretel'. With his singular vision creating entire worlds, it won't be hard to get lost in the world of Burton.
Accompanying the exhibition are film screenings and public events including:
Tim Burton Film Retrospective
Castaway with Tim Burton: the director discusses his top 5 films
Masterclass with Tim Burton: Burton discusses his artistic journey
Museums in the 21st Century: MoMA director Glenn Lowry speaks about the future of museums
