When Dennis Hopper's counter revolutionary film Easy Rider was released in 1969, it signaled the beginning of the 'New Hollywood'. Dennis Hopper and the New Hollywood examines America in a cultural, social and political transformation. The expansive exhibition brings together Hopper's own photography and film work as a director and actor with his private collection of contemporary art, including paintings, photographs and sculptures by artists such as Andy Warhol, Ed Ruscha, Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein and Jenny Holzer. |
