TITLE stores have been popping up around Melbourne with reasonable frequency over the past few years, and we’re better off for it. Owned by the Fuse Music Group, each store is jam packed with what they proclaim as “the best music, films and books that this little planet has produced”. And they’re not kidding. From an anniversary repackaging of Stanley Kubrick’s complete works, to the latest Justin Townes Earle record and books on iconic photographers such as Helmut Newton, you’ll find it all here.
In fact, you could really say that TITLE specialises in the things you wish you had on your bookshelf. Considering the modest sizes of the stores, the range is impressive. The stores are well laid out too, so what you’re looking for is still generally easy to find. Browse through the 1960s jazz 12” section, flick through the huge range of cult cinema titles or load yourself up with your next roster of page-turners.
Also of note, is the presence of Rega turntables. Generally regarded as the Holy Grail of turntables, the sleek, minimalist design is matched by their pristine sound quality.
Think of it as being like one of the other, larger stores, but with all the best bits picked out, just for you.
