You might have seen them around town at restaurants, cafes and galleries, but Shelley Panton's handmade ceramics can be found at her eclectic shop in Albert Park.

P

otter Shelley Panton’s gorgeous little studio and shop in Middle Park almost never was. While searching for a house, Panton stumbled upon the shop and was unable to pass up the opportunity to combine store and studio.

Panton’s stoneware is a favourite of chef Matt Wilkinson who had pieces specially made for both the relaunch of Circa and the opening of his own cafe Pope Joan. You may also have spotted pieces at Heide Museum of Modern Art, who commissioned a collection to celebrate their Sunday’s Kitchen exhibition, or at the Lost & Found hotel.

As a home base for Panton’s many projects, including her ceramics, the space is filled to the brim with locally made furniture, homewares, art and gourmet food. Stop in to pick up a flat-packed flora-inspired pendant light by Yellow Diva or a piece of wooden furniture by Greg Hatton, organise a Pottery for Beginners class or put together a food hamper. The highlight is undoubtedly Patton’s stoneware with its simple, rustic yet elegant look. The spring collection is in the store now, or head in and order a custom piece of your very own.
