So for the cover story, Editor Caroline Clements went to visit Amie Darragh in her studio as she put the finishing touches on the first collection of her new label KINOAK. James Cameron managed to pin down Akira long enough for a chat about the 300 odd costumes he has designed for Ballet Australia’s upcoming production of Prokofiev’s Romeo & Juliet.

We couldn’t possibly consider doing a fashion issue without some amazing images, so we were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with some of the city’s best photographers. James Geer shot our cover, while Cory White took to the streets for some portraits of women around the city. Josh Robenstone shot Raph Rashid and the people who keep the fashion industry going, while Scottie Cameron dropped by the Modern Motorcycle Company workshop.

We also announce the winners of our As Modern As Tomorrow photo competition and while Dave Kerr talks cocktails at our favourite bar, The Everleigh, our Contributing Editor Dan Rule chats with Russian artists AES+F, whose giant baby sculptures are coming to town for the Melbourne Festival.
