Rooftop Cinema Season Finally Rolls Around
Rooftop Cinema Season Finally Rolls Around

While it’s questionable to say that summer has actually made an appearance yet, The Rooftop cinema is something we can always rely on. It opens this weekend.

S
ick of layering up in preparation for the blizzard-like, air-conditioned conditions in the cinemas? Opening this weekend (Saturday December 3), Melbourne’s Rooftop Cinema allows you to sit in the open city air, all the while enjoying a film and basking in Melbourne’s spectacular skyline.

Back for its sixth season, this year’s Rooftop Cinema includes a notable rollcall of cult classics and new releases such as Labyrinth, Bridesmaids, The Hangover II, Purple Rain, The Lost Boys, Heathers, Stand By Me, Casablanca, Desperately Seek Susan and We Need to Talk About Kevin.

And for the first time, this year’s screenings will feature an intermission, allowing you to finally take a toilet break without missing that crucial climax, or of course, to just relax and enjoy a rooftop Beatbox burger at All Day Burgers mid flick.

Running until March 31 2012, sessions are held every night excluding Mondays and Fridays. Doors open at 8.30pm with screenings beginning at sundown (around 9.30pm).
