Starting with only eight buildings in 2008, Melbourne Open House has come a long way in its short life. This year, the even is expecting a turnout of over 100,000 people supported by 500 volunteers.

MOH will be presenting the Speaker Series, a suite of free public talks by the very designers and architects who have created the featured buildings, guiding the audience through an insightful discussion about the architecture and design process. Melbourne Bike Share tours will also be running throughout the event, taking 20 people at a time around the city sights. There will also be a free photography competition running throughout the event, giving enthusiasts the opportunity to photograph the buildings features in the MOH program.

From the tunnels of the Royal Melbourne Hospital to the backstage of Her Majesty’s Theatre, Melbourne Open House is sure to be an informative and enjoyable expedition not only for the architecturally-inclined, but also for Melburnians fascinated by the idea of permeating the walls of spaces so significant to their hometown.
