Tiny city cafe Little King's Perimeter-curated micro-library offers a curated selection of reading material to accompany your morning coffee.

L

ittle King and Perimeter Books are set to create the ultimate winter reading nook in Little King's cosy space off Flinders Lane. From Thursday onwards, cafe-goers will be able to browse the Perimeter Books Micro-Library, a range of small press art books, zines and design publications especially selected for Little King by bookstore and art space, Perimeter Books.

There will be no leafing through a week-old newspaper supplement at Little King – customers can delight in rare and unique publications, updated monthly, over their morning brew. From the first selection, peruse a recent edition of Berlin art magazine Ein Magazin Uber Orte (which explores the theme of paradise), leaf through the intricate line drawings in Melbourne illustrator Marc Martin's Silent Observer, or have a giggle at Tristan Ceddia's hot-pink Hot Spot – devoted to the beauty spot.

But it’s not just Little King that’s getting the Perimeter touch. The Thornbury bookstore is also collaborating with Little King’s neighbour Chapter House Lane gallery to present a solo exhibition by South African artist Andrzej Nowicki, dubbed Feldgrau. It all goes down this Thursday from 6pm, when you can browse Little King's library and then head next door to Chapter House Lane to check out Nowicki’s new exhibition. Perimeter will also have books for sale on the night. Go from art books and coffee to art and wine in one location. What's not to like?

The Perimeter Books Micro-Library at Little King and Andrzej Nowicki’s Feldgrau at Chapter House Lane open this Thursday June 7, 6pm–8pm.
