BLESS was founded by Paris and Berlin-based duo Desiree Heiss and Ines Haag, one of fashion’s most innovative designers. In their prolific career, this design team have proved themselves to be multifaceted to say the least, not limiting themselves purely to fashion, but challenging the boundaries of design via experimental incursions into interior decoration, art installation and exhibition, as well as various collaborations with other brands such as Swedish label WEEKEND, Adidas and Levi’s.

For their first major exhibition project in Melbourne, BLESS have teamed up with Melbourne label PAM (Misha Hollenbach and Shauna Toohey) to ‘arrange’ plants, objects and products in the interior space at the Craft Victoria gallery.

At first glimpse, the BLESS N° 38 Windowgarden appears like any stylish urban dwelling, but after closer inspection it becomes apparent that each of the objects in the space have been crafted with the purpose of being put to use in a different way – muddying the waters between art, object, fashion and functionality. It encourages the audience to appreciate design objects not just in terms of functionality, but as unexpected and interchangeable forms.

Part installation, part voyeuristic journey, the Windowgarden also serves as a retail shop, with select pieces available for purchase (check out the BLESS iPhone stone).

BLESS N° 38 Windowgarden runs until July 30 at Craft Victoria, 31 Flinders Lane, Melbourne.
