Affordable Art at Dangerfork Pop-up
Dealers of lowbrow street art, Dangerfork, have opened a pop-up shop in Collingwood. A fter travelling through Europe, husband-and-wife team Chris Drummond and Megan Quigley realised there was a gap in Melbourne’s market for affordable and accessible art. They founded Dangerfork roughly 18 months ago and began screen-printing pieces by local and overseas artists on a printing press donated to them by a friend.
Opened on Saturday, their two-month art pop-up on Johnston Street will showcase all of the Dangerfork’s current prints including pieces by local street, graf and pop artists Everfresh, Itch, Makatron and Mayo, to name a few. There will be two feature exhibitions – Andrea Prosciutti from November 17 to 20 and Tattoo Magic from December 15 to 18. Quigley and Drummond describe their eclectic mix of prints as “lowbrow street art” and each print is handmade in a limited edition and are available to buy framed or unframed.
